Logo and the name of app

I chose the name of the app as Ncup. N means number so I wanted to show like use it N-times.
And I put N in the circle in the logo like the number in the circle on the main page.

When I did sketches, I was considered the name between UseFullCup and Ncup.
UseFullCup was a compound word of useful+full+cup.
I wanted to say it could be a useful cup and use it fully.
The intention of my project is to use the reusable cup as much as users can and use it fully first rather than buy a new one and change the old one. The reason why I set my intention as above is that people buy a lot of reusable cups under they protect the environment. But they including me have not thought about how many times we need to use them.
Anyways, I liked the UseFullCup since it was meaningful but I finally chose the name of app as Ncup.

At first, I was going to use two more pink colours and layered both circles because users can slide/swipe the cup on the main page. I wanted to show that motion on the logo. But when I used two colours, it did not seem about the environmental and green image so I changed to use only green colour and black series of colours and white.

Feedback and changes

[ from mid point presentation ]  I asked 4 questions in the midpoint presentation. Which one do you think good/convenient for users to count the number?(on my sketch) - The reward/benefits section will be a good method to get more people using reusable cups - Hi Min! I think the staff one and scanning the qr code is quite convenient. People counting by themselves might mean people cheat and over exaggerate how many times they've used it  Merge 1&2 100% - I'm not sure, I can see the dilemma, merge 1 & 2 would mean people can't exaggerate (would using one qr code that everyone scans in the store better than a sticker, to save paper?), but if people make their own drink then they can't enter the use, so I would say 3 might be the best I guess you could merge 3 and some elements of 2 as having a qr code could remind people to enter their use when they are in the store - I think it's difficult to have users count their uses themselves. It might be best for ho...

Weeks in Review [1]

23RD SEPTEMBER 2019  I learned how drawing can be related to systems. At first, I was quite confused since I have not thought that I can do a drawing about systems without computer and machine. Because the word 'system' I thought was directly related to computer. I learned the exact meaning of system, which is a set of things working together as parts of a mechanism or an interconnecting network.  We especially drew 'complex system' a lot, meaning one in which the individual elements interact to create something that is greater than the sum of its parts. First of all, we drew some straight line but it looked like chaos and disorderly. When we drew something that is constant and orderly, they looked complex system.  After that, the tutor organized 5 teams and instructed teams to make the rule to draw system. Ours were to draw triangles connecting each three points but do not touch the sides of triangle and fill the colour. I learned 'emergence' from this ac...

Weeks in Review [2]

30TH SEPTEMBER 2019 - 7TH OCTOBER 2019 After the first briefing, I got 1:1 tutorial with Oliver on Monday 30th Sep. What I need to was thinking about the first project but I misunderstood because I forgot to read unit guide. I told him honestly I do not know what should I do and he gave some advice about first project. After doing first tutorial with Oliver, I began to read first project contents and references on unit guide. At first I was interested in the system which made by coding rather than analog one. However, there was limit to create what I want. So I changed my mind to make by using drawing the system by hand.           Firstly, I set up the rules using 3 types of shape which were circle, rectangular and triangle. However, I found that the system was quite similar with another system which made by  https://conditionaldesign.org/ . Before modification After modification So I changed again using three colours of lines and do...
