Timeline [Second Idea and research]

I had thought am I going to change the whole idea but the lunar calendar was quite interesting. The calendar is based upon the monthly cycles of the Moon's phases and the lunar phase is regular so I decided to keep the lunar things but change to making using with lunar phase.

1. USER : Asian People -> Korean People -> Gardner
2. IDEA : Lunar Calendar/Clock -> Lunar Phase Clock

I researched lunar phases to not make a mistake when I chose the user. Korean use lunar phases for gardening, for example, people plant the seeds of Chinese cabbage in summer when the new moon rises on the seventh lunar month. As I first did research, I mentioned that Korean use the lunar calendar for Gimjang, the period of making Kimchi, and this is because the cabbages are cultivated by using the lunar phase and lunar calendar.  I found out people who are gardeners even are not Asian people, they often use lunar phases for gardening.

The reason why I chose the name of the clock as 29.5 days clock is that the lunar phase the true lenght varies throughout the year. But they are 29 days and some hours.

After choosing the idea, I think about how to make and express the clock well. When I received a unit guide and see the reference for the project, I was impressed by Maarten Baas's work since I was interested in video artwork after visiting Nam June Paik exhibition. When I first saw his work, I thought his work is performance art but it was filmed artwork. I wanted to make the clock by using video.
